Hello, I am going to show you how to add brushes to Photoshop, through Adobe’s Creative Cloud, with a link. ( Video Below ) After that, you will be able to save these new brushes as (.ABR) files, or just let them sit in the cloud. This is very convenient if you do not want to download extra files, AND for adding certain types of brushes to Adobe Fresco and Photoshop Sketch for mobile. I make most of these brushes on Adobe Capture mobile, and there are some brushes that ONLY work on Fresco and Sketch mobile and can’t be used in regular Photoshop. This is the best ( and only as far as I know ) way to share them with you.
You need to have at least the Photoshop or Fresco premium plan to add the brushes this way. If you subscribe to the whole Creative Cloud suite you will definitely have access to these brushes. I recommend this just because you get SO MUCH!!!
It all starts with Adobe’s Creative Cloud. If you have a link to a specific file or folder, you can add those assets to YOUR Creative Cloud library. This includes certain brushes for Photoshop, Illustrator, Fresco, and Sketch, 3D assets for Adobe Dimension, fonts, color palettes, patterns, and other types of assets. This can be done on a mobile browser or desktop browser, but NOT through any of the apps. Please watch the video below. There is another video at the end of this page showing you how to use these brushes with the mobile apps.
When you have a link to a shared folder on the Creative Cloud, you can add whatever assets to your personal library. This is a much faster and easier way to use and retrieve Adobe assets. Just visit the link provided, click “Copy To My Work“, open Photoshop, open the “Libraries” tool panel, scroll to new folder, select brush, create, save brush as an .ABR file.
Your mobile apps… Fresco and Photoshop Sketch REALLY benefit from this as well. If your working strictly on your mobile with Photoshop Sketch or Fresco, then this is invaluable, as you can add brushes very quickly without adding extra files to your device. It’s also an easy way to load brushes to your regular Photoshop program, without having to be at your computer.
This is obviously nothing new, but not many people are aware of how much you can actually do on Adobe’s Creative Cloud. Some people would rather just download the file and be done with it. This just gives you the extra option of being able to leave it on the cloud. This process might also make it easier for artists to get their work out there with a link for their customers, instead of a file to download! Depending on what Adobe plan you have, you should also have plenty of storage space on their cloud.
Visit Link, Click “Add To My Work”. Our links will usually be provided through email, on the receipt. We will also offer free ones periodically on our site. After you add the files to your work they will be stored on your Adobe Creative Cloud library and available to use instantly. They will use up space on your cloud account, but these files are very small.
Open Adobe Photoshop. By the time you open Photoshop, the brushes should be ready for you to use… It’s that quick.
Open The “Libraries” Tool Panel. On this panel you will see your Creative Cloud files and folders. You will be able to scroll to whichever file you have recently added. You will also see all of your saved cloud items by name here. Select your brush and create 🙂
Save As .ABR File. When you are ready to save this brush as an .ABR file, click on “create new brush” on either the “Brushes” OR “Brush Settings” panels. Give your new brush a name, and click OK. This will add the new brush to your “Brushes” tool panel. From that “Brushes” tool panel, click the menu icon in the upper right corner. Scroll down to “Export Selected Brushes“, name your file, choose the file destination location and click save. Your files are now downloaded to your device… iOS, iPad, Windows 10. Other tablets and phones won’t open .ABR files. But you can still use them, read below.
Use These Brushes On Adobe Fresco And Photoshop Sketch For Mobile Also. You CAN access these brushes on the mobile versions of Fresco AND Photoshop Sketch. Once they are added to your library, they are available right away. Check out another video for information on this 🙂
Thank you again for reading 🙂 and again… If you have any questions, or comments please leave them on this page, or email us. Please check out our other Photoshop and Fresco brushes pages.
